The story of my life is one bad country songs are written about. The one where the girl gets made a fool of over and over again, never seeming to learn her lesson, destined to repeat the same mistakes till she finally is released from hell by death. I'm sure that sounds rather harsh or dramatic but unfortunately this is indeed how I have felt for many years now. As if the universe is playing some twisted cosmic joke and my life is the punch line. This is no way to start a biography I sure but I had to get my two cents in before you were allowed to hear the rest. So enjoy it, take from it what you can, and please do not be that person who tells me the lesson - I rather continue to miss it and deal with the consequences.

It was considered an act of god when Margaret Hopkins at the age of forty found out she was pregnant with her soon to be first and only child. For years the Hopkins family had prayed for a child, having lead the congregation at Hope Lutheran church to join in the hopes though the doctors for years had proclaimed it was impossible. And yet on June 8, 1977 as Pastor Henry Hopkins paced around in the waiting room, Margaret Hopkins gave birth to a littler girl who was promptly named Warren - after the doctor who delivered her. The two new parents felt blessed, god had answered their prayers... if only they knew what a sense of humor god truly has.

In the small town of Lawton, Texas the happy couple raised young Warren to be a proper little girl. She was to never cuss, she was to keep her appearance tidy, and she was to pray before every meal. She was to the their perfect little angel who was mannered, well behaved, and quiet. Warren however had other plans. With the help of the neighbor boy, Warren became a little devil. She hated to pray, always questioning everything the bible or her father said. With loud laughter and screams she would run around, forever dirtying up her little dresses and causing a ruckus. Their little angel was a little hell raiser and one who couldn't be controlled... and this was at the age of five.

By the time her teen years rolled around Warren was forever in trouble. Though her grades in school were average and she was well liked by her fellow classmates - she seemed to forever be in detention for her antics. Pastor Henry prayed for change nightly as well as lectured his daughter in her room, never giving up on the hope for something he said to sink in. The bible, the ten commandments, by religion - he insisted this was the right and only way to live and yet each night as he left her room - locking her bedroom door behind him, little Tristan Anderson - the neighbor boy who inspired such trouble as a child - would climb in through her window for pillow talk and kisses.

It seemed no matter what Pastor Henry or his wife Margaret did, Warren had her sites on little Tristan Anderson. He was a good boy in some ways, having taken care of his mother since her fathers untimely departure. But as many good and Christian qualities he had, he easily had bad ones to match it. A good kid with a bad temper was the nicer way people put it - but in truth he just had a wild imagination and a little cute brunette edging on all his bad ideas. Often he could be found playing pranks, skipping classes, and acting out. To his classmates he was amusing, to adults he was a nuisance, and to Warren he was perfect.

Dating since the age of five, Warren couldn't imagine her life without her crazy side kick Tristan. They were each others first kiss, first date, first time sexually. So naturally when Tristan proposed after their Senior Ball, she accepted gleefully. The two were wild and crazy kids, both unable to keep their hands or mouths off each other. They were in love and wed by Pastor Henry Hopkins in Hope Lutheran Church on June 19, 1995. Henry and Margaret were thrilled and prayed that this marriage would force these two children to finally grow up.

Marriage however seemed to prolong their childhood. As Warren went to cosmetology school, Tristan became a fire-fighter. The two worked all day yet partied all night. Young and reckless, they tore up the town and neighboring towns, always laughing and causing a scene. They seemed to be perfect for each other, everyone said so. And yet they had their hardships as well. Both wanted children quickly, as many children as possible. They began to try a year after marriage however one miscarriage after another, nothing seemed to work. And with every failed attempt came more and more heartache. They couple found themselves at odds, fighting over nothing, using the exchange as a way to clear their emotions of pain.

It was after the forth miscarriage that the worse fight broke out. Warren insisted Tristan was too childish for children while he insisted she simply baron. This transaction ended with Warren storming out, as usual, and Tristan beginning to drink. Three hours past, Warren didn't come home. Tristan drank more and more. How could she not come home and apologize already? The more he thought about it, the sadder he became. The sadder he became, the more he seemed to drink. Five hours past, he found himself past out on the couch only to awaken to the feeling of a woman caressing and teasing his body. Without opening his eyes he gave in, pleased to think his wife came home to make up. As the woman began to pleasure him, Tristan sat back grinning widely, eyes closed and fingers in her hair. His indulgence in the act was cut short however by a scream he new better then anyone else, the scream of his wife. And in his drunken haze Tristan was lucky enough to open his eyes to find her at the door, standing there, pale as a ghost as tears rise in her eyes - her head shaking side to side as she backs out of the door... she hadn't been the one pleasuring him at all.

Warren, a woman of pride, felt she lost everything. She had walked in on her husband being pleasured by her best friend. She couldn't stand the site of him, the sound of his voice, even the sound of his name. She was hurt deeply, not believing for a second that he was drunk and believed it was her the whole time. How could he not notice the difference? Surely he knew her better then anyone else? And no matter how hard Tristan pleaded, Warren couldn't listen to a word he said. She filled for a divorce.

Good old Christian Pastor Henry and his wife Margaret couldn't be more displeased with their daughter. Marriage was forever. They lectured her endlessly to give her husband another chance, that though he had made a mistake he could be forgiven. And it seemed the more they insisted the more she resisted. She wanted their support and love, not their lectures. She wanted them to be there for her, not to reprehend her. And so as the ink dried on their divorce papers on April 23, 2000, Warren knew she had to leave and never look back.

Miami, Florida. A post card from an old high school friend inspired the move. There she lived with a gal she met from work, enjoyed the beaches every day, and did her best to move on... unfortunately for her, Tristan had other ideas. He came out to see her, to talk to her, to win her back - an act that didn't settle well on the twenty three year old girl. She quickly found herself packing up all she could in the middle of the night before hopping in her car and talking off, landing in Las Vegas to hide from him. She was done, she had signed the papers. She didn't need him to hurt her anymore.

Las Vegas, not the picnic she expected. Finding work was hard and though she had money saved before she came, she quickly found it disappearing. However stumbling into a strip joint by accident one night, Warren met a young man who would forever change her life. Drake Oceans. Tall, charming, rich, and built - Drake Oceans was the man every father prayed his little girl never met. With a rather sly smirk and a mischievous gleam in his eyes, he wasn't a man to be trusted and yet his calm voice and sweet-talking ways got Warren to let her guard down. She began to work at the joint, becoming a stripper and in short time, his girlfriend.

At first everything about their romance was perfect. She had been divorced almost a year, Drake was exciting and dominate. They fit together well until his jealous streak began to show up at work - Drake quickly not becoming comfortable with the fact men could stare at his girl, his property. But even that could be solved, Drake fired Warren and instead got her a job as a hair dresser at a near by beauty parlor. And, for extra cash, she was a back up bartender for his place - her easily making the best Black Ukrainian he had ever tasted. However like most good things, they don't last. With each passing week Drake seemed to become more and more possessive over her, often getting in fist fights with any guy that seemed to look at her. And as they past dating for seven months, Drake's crazier side seemed to come shining through even more.

It was after Warren was talking to a young man at the convenience store that she realized Drake was a little scary. Coming out and getting into his car, Drake reached over only to grab her hair and bash her head into the dash board. Frighten and confused, she realized this was a change she had been ill prepared for. And though she toyed with the idea of running away and leaving him, she found herself to frightened and paralyzed to. So instead she rationalized his behavior, made excuses for his new actions of beating her, doing this for the next four months till she came home one day to their place only to find him in bed with her best friend.

She knew then and there she could run and escape him. Warren's love for him had faded since he first hurt her and she knew she could never allow someone who cheats on her to have her heart. So, instead of worrying about her things and risking getting caught, Warren leaves town with the contents of Drake's safe at the club, only to buy a cheap car and drive back home to Lawton.

Lawton again wasn't as fun as she had been expecting. Tristan had left, her parents were shunning her, and the town in the two years she had been gone didn't seem to progress at all. She didn't really want to live there, a town where if someone coughed it became gossip... but she also feared that Drake would find her elsewhere as long as she was named Warren Anderson. Luckily however, Warren knew Drake didn't know her maiden name and so, changing back to it would probably be best.

Warren Hopkins lived once more. Loading her new car up again, she headed to Los Angeles to start a new. No longer would she trust men or women, no longer would she allow herself to get hurt. She would live a sheltered life and be alone and happy... WRONG! Los Angeles for the first six months was refreshing, lonely, and perfect... that is till a handsome, ambitious young detective named Adam Lowry set his sites on her. With the word giving up not in his vocabulary - for the next two months her persistently perused her. Showing up where she was, knocking on her door in the middle of the night, being more charming then the devil. Though Warren fought his advances and his ideas, she couldn't help but soon find herself giving in.

And it seemed once she gave in, everything else moved rather fast. Adam moved in after they dated for three weeks, the two then began to live like a married couple in their small apartment happily. After nine months of dating Adam was offered a better position in NYC. Warren and Adam soon found themselves packing up and moving across the country only to once again settle into a new apartment and continue onward on this path toward marriage.

Unfortunately god has an odd sense of humor at times. It was almost a month after the move that Warren found herself on the elevator, staring at a man she hadn't seen in nearly four and a half years. And as he hit the emergency stop button she found herself trapped in a small elevator shaft with her ex husband and his child. Needless to say it wasn't a welcomed exchange at first though over time, Warren found something she had been missing for the last couple years... her real best friend. The person who knew her since childhood and could tell what she was thinking just by looking at her.

Warren and Tristan were once again friends. The two found themselves talking daily, spending time together weekly, and annoying the oh so busy Adam Lowry endlessly. Though Lowry didn't consider himself a jealous man, something about the relationship didn't settle right. He found himself fighting Warren about it daily, he found himself angry every time he heard Tristan's name. He found himself proposing just to claim her as his so Tristan wouldn't try anything. And like all engagements made on those factors, this one was doomed to fail and did in a rather blowing up in your face way.

The details of the breakup need not be discussed. Their aftermath must however. Warren found herself at a loss and Tristan found himself taking car of her. Sending her home to her grand parents, she spent a month in Texas only to remember why she hated it. She also found herself missing Tristan and soon she headed back to New York City to live with him and his daughter. There she became like his wife again without the romantic side. Tristan worked and Warren watched his daughter Brianna while cooking and cleaning for him.

Just as Warren started to pick up the pieces of her heart again, Adam came blowing back in. Arresting her on a bogus charge, the two came face to face only for her to fight him with every inch of her being. He made his advances, she in pain rejected them. But like back in Los Angeles, Adam knew better then to give up. Within a month she was back in his arms again and the two decided to date again only for Warren to come across Drake... and realize she couldn't stay near Adam or Tristan.

Leaving New York in shame with Drake, Warren returned to Las Vegas for the next three years to work off her debt - earning Drake back every dime she owed him. At first she resented what was happening, however with her life in the balance she knew it was better to comply. And within nine months she had made little head-way... that is till Tristan figured out what was going on, transferred to Las Vegas to help her out. His gracious act settled well on her heart and though it wasn't easy, the two began to rekindle their past.

Sometimes things end for a reason. Five months into her relationship with Tristan, Warren realized the love they once had was gone. She was still in love with Adam Lowry and Tristan knew it to be true. He transferred back to New York City, leaving her to tend to what she needed to in Las Vegas. And with him gone the next year went by rather smoothly. The hate she had for Drake began to melt, he was once again the man she originally had liked and a friendship was sparked.

Adam surprised Warren by showing up. When she saw him things didn't necessarily work out nicely. Words were shared, harsh words that finally sealed the end of their long romance for good. And as quick as he had shown up, once again he disappeared from her life, leaving her with no more what if's about their relationship. And in her lowest of times Drake seemed to slip his way back more into Warren's life... so much that against her better judgement she forgave him and began to innocently date him once more.

Old habits die hard. Four months into their new relationship Drake once more slipped into his abusive state of being. Warren was however wiser and stronger now. She reported his abuse to the police, insisted he never come near her again, finished paying of her debt. Though running away has always been Warren's habit, for some reason Vegas seems to suit her this time. She stayed, finding work at another casino only to pick up her life. What will happen now? Only time will tell. But at least she's doing things on her own for once. No man, no pressures from the past, just life.
